Established in August 1991, SAPPROS NEPAL is a not-for-profit non-government organization. Since then, SAPPROS has mobilized and organized hundreds of thousands of marginalized people and contributed to their betterment. Operating mainly in rural Nepal, SAPPROS has over 150 employees and has undertaken programs related to infrastructure development, income/employment generation and public awareness in more than forty administrative districts. Over 286,145 households or about 1.39 million individuals have participated and benefited from SAPPROS run programs/activities: millions more are benefiting from SAPPROS facilitated infrastructures such as roads, electricity, community buildings, and irrigation canals. The Right Livelihood Award (2010) bestowed to Chairperson Mr. Shri Krishna Upadhyay is a testimony to SAPPROS’ accomplishment.
